About Me
Hey there! I’m Billie-Jo Smith, a professional golfer and an enthusiastic researcher in the fascinating world of golf biomechanics. Welcome to my little corner of the internet, Thegolflearn.com!
A Little Bit About My Journey
I started my golfing journey at a young age, and it’s been an incredible ride ever since. Currently, I’m self-employed as a professional golfer, a role I’ve been passionately pursuing since January 2022. My journey in the golfing world has been both challenging and rewarding, with numerous highs and lows that have taught me invaluable lessons along the way.
Academic Pursuits
Balancing my career with academic endeavors has been quite the adventure. I graduated with a Master’s degree in Sports and Exercise from the University of Derby, where I delved deep into the intricacies of golf biomechanics. This experience was particularly tough given the pandemic, but the challenges only made the achievement sweeter. Now, I’m continuing my academic journey as a doctoral student, focusing on Golf Biomechanics. It’s been a thrilling ride, learning to use state-of-the-art biomechanical analysis equipment and conducting cutting-edge research.
Research and Passion
I’m deeply passionate about golf biomechanics, and my current PhD research involves using advanced technology like Vicon motion capture and Kistler Group force plates to understand the nuances of golf swings. It’s an exciting field, and I’m always on the lookout for research opportunities and participants interested in contributing to this fascinating study.
